    Your New Favorite Song

This here is a music recommendation site—specifically, a song recommendation blog. Each post recommends a song, often new sometimes old, that we happen to be excited about that day.

Here, every song has a chance to spend time on the Top Ten Songs OF ALL TIME list. In the same way you don’t edit your enthusiasm and overstatements when turning your friends on to something you’re jazzed about, neither will this blog hold back when pouring it on about what, for one day at least, just might be Your New Favorite Song.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back and share your new favorite songs.

    Who?
This is Jason Cassidy, Conrad Nystrom and Mark Lore.

Jason writes and edits at a weekly newspaper in Chico, Calif. He also plays music—sometimes sad-bastard stuff like this but usually noisy pop stuff, most recently (with Conrad) in this and (with Mark) here—and he really loves organizing fun shows. Besides being obsessed with music, Jason is a huge fan of the game of basketball, folk art, David Lynch, the dog, the cat, and of course his rad wife Connie.

Conrad travels approximately three hours a day to teach fifth grade. He lives with his wife, also a teacher, son Roman Elliot, and cat Yoshi. He has worked in record stores on both coasts, and written for local weeklies for years (interviewing Sebastian Bach being the highlight). His love of NBA basketball is being tested by his favorite team The Sacramento Kings whose current roster appears ‘winning-challenged.’ Favorite bands include Polvo, Explosions in the Sky, Sonic Youth, and Deerhunter. Having played in bands around town for two decades, currently he belongs to Chico noise quartet West By Swan.

Mark writes for various publications including Spin, the Portland Mercury and the Chico News & Review. He lives in Portland—Oregon, not Maine—and runs a music blog there. Mark has an unhealthy affinity for the Old 97’s and pre-1976 KISS and enjoys rocking out with his own bands including this duo (with Jason), this band and these guys. In a former life he had an unhealthy affinity for playing with these derelicts. Back when he was a young lad working at a record store in Red Bluff, Calif., Mark amused himself by blasting Pantera while customers perused the H’s and M’s for Hootie and Alanis.
